Michael Jordan has just entered the billionaire club, according to the famous Forbes Magazine on Thursday June 12th, the Magazine estimated Jordan's share as an owner of the Charlotte Hornets to be $416 million, which is different from his net worth of $600 millions, gained outside of the Hornets Basketball franchise. If added, they summed up to over $1billion dollar.
Jordan owns almost 90 percent equity of the Charlotte Hornets. The legendary hall of fame basketball player spokeswoman, EStee Portnoy confirmed to the Associated Press, that Jordan bought an additional share of the Hornets franchise back in January 2013 to increase his ownership. However, she did not elaborate on how much he spent. She also had no comment either about Jordan's new billionaire status.
Jordan gained fame in the NBA as a member of the Chicago Bulls. He won six championships with the Bulls; three from 1991-1993, and another three peat from 1996-1998. Most of his wealth came from Basketball endorsement deals, on court performances, the Air Jordan shoes, Clothings as well as movies. In 2010, Bob Johnson founder of (BET) Black Entertainment Network, and former owner of the Charlotte Bobcats sold his majority ownership stake to Jordan, making Jordan an instant majority owner of the Bobcats, who recently had their name changed back to Charlotte Hornets.
